Service Description

This three-part series is a Beginner's Introduction to the Sacred Practice of Women's Frame Drum. This class is for women only. No previous experience is necessary, but if you have some experience and want to spend more time with others learning about and practicing the drum, please feel free to come along! Practice never ends! What is a frame drum? What does it represent? How is it used? How is it held and played? Learn the basic notes, learn a short rhythm to play as a meditation on the drum, and discover more about the drum's history. How does it related to the elements? To the Goddess? To women's wellness and healing work today? Why is this ancient and sacred technology relevant to us now? How do you develop a relationship with your drum? This is both informational and interactive instruction. Handouts and homework included! ******************************************************************* 3 Sessions 90 minutes each. ZOOM sessions - live on Fridays, May 17th, 24th. and 31st. 3PM-4:30PM EST NOTE: I will send a reminder email along with the Zoom link prior to the class date to all registrants. Your investment is $90 for the series (Includes 4.5 hours of content + handouts and homework) plus classes are recorded and registrants will have 4 week access to the recordings so even if you can't attend live you will be able to view the classes for 4 weeks (after the last class). Sign up by May 6th and get $5 off registration with code - drumoff5 NOTE: Sign-ups are for one person per registration. BRING YOUR DRUM, a glass of water, and your notebook/handouts if applicable. While you can attend the class and participate without a drum, you may want to have a frame drum for the class. While the term Frame Drum applies to a variety of drums, I am focusing on the women's Ancient Mediterranean Frame Drum that is played with the fingers. For a good basic beginners drum, I recommend Remo Fiberskyn or Renaissance Frame Drums (make sure not to buy a drum head for a drum set) size 14 or 16 inch. These drums can be purchased online at West Music, Sweetwater, Steve Weiss Music or Amazon. They run $25-35. Here is one link option. https://www.steveweissmusic.com/product/remo-frame-drum/hand-drums
